NAPA Auto Parts
Belt Sander Drag Race
The Buckland Volunteer Fire Dept. held it's 7th. Annual Belt Sander Drag
Race, Saturday, June 21st. 2008. This year the race was again sponsored by our
friends at NAPA Auto Parts, located in Wapakoneta and Sidney. The race was a
success. There were20 belt sanders entered and raced, everyone had a great time,
including both the racers and spectators.

sanders were raced in the "Stock" class, and 7 in the "Modified"
class. In the end, one sander from each class clawed it's way to the top. Wall
plaques and $50.00 cash prizes were presented to the first place winners, wall plaques and
$25.00 cash prizes were presented to second place winners, and wall plaques were presented
to 3rd. place winners. The sander judged as "Best of Show" was awarded a
wall plaque and a $25.00 cash prize.
This year
we were honored to have District 76 State Representative Cliff Hite judge the winning
sander for "Best of Show". We thank Cliff for his participation.
