Belt Sander Drag Race

      The Buckland Volunteer Fire Dept. held it's 8th. Annual Belt Sander Drag Race, Saturday, June 20th. 2009.  This year the race was sponsored by our friend Cliff Hite, 76th. District, Ohio House of Representatives. The race was a success.  There were16 belt sanders entered and raced, everyone had a great time, including both the racers and spectators. 

     12 sanders were raced in the "Stock" class, and 6 in the "Modified" class.  In the end, one sander from each class clawed it's way to the top.  Wall plaques and $50.00 cash prizes were presented to the first place winners, wall plaques and $25.00 cash prizes were presented to second place winners, and wall plaques and $10.00 cash prizes were presented to the third place winners.  The sander judged as "Best of Show" was awarded a wall plaque and a $25.00 cash prize.
